The Stone Roses was a band from Manchester , England, perhaps the most representative of the Madchester movement the late '80s. It is one of the groups most influenced bands from the Britpop in the '90s.
Formed in the early '80s by Ian Brown (vocals), John Squire (guitar), Gary Mounfield , aka "Mani" (bass) and Alan Wren , alias "Reni" (drums), his music is characterized by attractive melodies 'Beatlesque' dance beat combined the sound of the time . With just a couple of singles were an aura of worship and the press treated them with reverence. The band was only released two albums (a homonym ("Stone Roses") in 1989 and a second album, "Second Coming" in 1995 , long delayed by legal problems with Silvertone label) before spreading discord among its members.
