The group's history dates back to late evening, when talk of an independent scene in Spain was still little more than science fiction. There were groups there were almost no seals, and most of the media ignored a few interesting groups. The prevailing mediocrity caused a chain reaction leading to the lush abundance of the first 90. Among that are ahead of their time were BACH IS DEAD, the group almost mythical proportions formed in 1988 in Sant Feliu de Llobregat, who opened the box of thunder with their acclaimed LP "Sonotone."
In 1993, after the separation of BACH IS DEAD, David, who shared a four-track with some friends (STEREORENT) gives a model home to Servando Carballar (who wanted to sign BACH IS DEAD) under the new name of BEEF. "Beef Songs" was released in 1994. The album went somewhat unnoticed (in part because of the problems that lead to the disappearance of the company, magnetic fabric), but gives enough hints of the genius that we would meet later. With the group free from restrictions, Watercolor (then sublabel Elefant Records) decided to release in single session "Beef Sings," recorded before the LP. David then started rehearsing with his current group: Juanjo (also in STEREORENT) Joanra (currently outside the group, and its own project LOVE OF LESBIAN) and Ernie (also in distress), and give the first concert with the band. to
